Privacy Policy

Ease The Paw (Pty) Ltd ("Ease The Paw", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we protect it, in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where applicable, similar laws in other regions such as the GDPR.

What we collect

Account details you give us (name, email, phone number, password), your pets' profiles (name, breed, age, photos and stories you choose to share), community activity (posts and likes), messages you send us by WhatsApp, SMS, phone or through the site, and payment confirmation from our payment processor. We do not store your full card details — payments are processed securely by Paystack.

How we use it

To run the community feed, Pet of the Month and Hall of Fame; to coordinate end-of-life services you request (which requires sharing your name, contact details and location with the veterinarian and, if chosen, cremation partner assisting you); to provide the Comfort Companion; to respond to your messages; to process subscriptions; and to keep the platform safe. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers needed to run Ease The Paw (hosting, database, payments, messaging), with the veterinary and cremation partners fulfilling a coordination you have requested, and where the law requires it. Partners receive only what they need to help you.

Your choices and rights

You may access, correct or delete your personal information, object to processing, or close your account at any time by contacting us by WhatsApp, SMS or phone on +27 77 270 4083. You can cancel your subscription at any time. If you delete your account, your posts and pet profiles are removed from the community; we may retain limited records where the law requires (for example, financial records).

Security and retention

We use reputable providers, encryption in transit, and access controls to protect your information, and keep it only as long as needed for the purposes above. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affecting you occurs, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required.

Children

Ease The Paw is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
