These terms govern your use of easethepaw.com, the Ease The Paw app, community, and coordination services, operated by Ease The Paw (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2026/538377/07 ("Ease The Paw", "we", "us"). By using our services you agree to these terms.

1. What Ease The Paw is — and is not

Ease The Paw is a pet community and a coordination service. We are not a veterinary practice and do not provide veterinary or medical services or advice. All veterinary services, including in-home euthanasia, are performed by independent, licensed veterinarians. All medical decisions rest between you and your veterinarian. Blog and Comfort Companion content is general guidance only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary, medical or mental-health advice.

2. Community membership

Membership costs R50 per month, billed via Paystack, and can be cancelled at any time; cancellation stops future billing and access continues to the end of the paid period. You must be 18 or older. You retain ownership of the content you post and grant us a licence to display it within the community. Post only content you have the right to share; keep it kind. We may remove content or suspend accounts that are abusive, unlawful or harm the community, and may verify winners before awarding Pet of the Month prizes. Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash value.

3. Coordination service

Our coordination fee (currently R950) is payable to Ease The Paw at the time of booking and covers arranging an independent mobile veterinarian, optional cremation coordination with our partners, the keepsake memorial provided at the visit (a fur keepsake keyring presented in a branded keepsake envelope), and support throughout. 10% of each coordination fee is paid to the attending veterinary practice and 10% is donated to the SPCA. The framed paw-print canvas is an optional premium purchase (currently R1,950), added at booking or ordered afterwards; where ordered, we arrange the paw-print capture with the attending veterinarian and deliver the canvas separately, typically within about 7–10 business days. If capture is not possible, we will contact you and refund the canvas in full. You pay the veterinarian directly for the medical procedure, and any cremation provider's fees are separate unless stated otherwise. We take care in selecting partners but do not employ them and are not responsible for the professional services they perform. Coordination is currently available in South Africa; availability depends on partner coverage in your area.

4. Fees and refunds

If we cannot arrange a veterinarian for you, the coordination fee is refunded in full. Keepsakes are personalised items and cannot be returned once made, except where required by law, including the Consumer Protection Act. Subscription payments already made are not refundable, but you can cancel future billing at any time.

5. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the platform: no unlawful content, harassment, impersonation, scraping, attempts to breach security, or commercial spam. Veterinarian accounts must hold current registration with their relevant veterinary council and keep their details accurate.

6. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ease The Paw's liability arising from the community or coordination services is limited to the amount you paid us for the service concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including certain rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

7. Changes and termination

We may update these terms and will post the updated version here with a new date; continued use after changes means acceptance. We may discontinue features with reasonable notice. You may close your account at any time.

Pet of the Month — competition terms

Pet of the Month is a promotional competition run by Ease The Paw (Pty) Ltd (reg 2026/538377/07). Every active community member is entered automatically each calendar month at no cost beyond their ordinary R50/month membership; no additional purchase or payment is required to enter or to win. One entry per member per month. Entrants under 18 require the consent of a parent or guardian to receive the prize.

The prize is a pet package to the value of R1,000, tailored to the winning member’s pet, delivered to the winner’s door — personally in Gauteng, by courier elsewhere. The prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. The winner is selected monthly on the basis of community likes, with ties broken by draw; the winner is contacted directly and announced in the Hall of Fame with their consent. Directors and employees of Ease The Paw (Pty) Ltd and their immediate households are not eligible to win. Ease The Paw may amend or suspend the competition on reasonable notice to members.
