After-Hours and Weekend Pet Cremation Collection in Gauteng
What is open
Several Gauteng pet crematoriums operate 24 hours and will collect at night and over weekends, particularly in and around Johannesburg and Pretoria. Others are strictly Monday to Friday. Phone rather than assume — the ones that do after-hours collection are used to the call and will not think it strange at 2am.
Expect a surcharge
After-hours and weekend collection commonly carries an additional fee, and some operators quote significantly more outside normal hours. That is legitimate. What is not legitimate is a quote three times the normal range — individual cremation for a small dog usually runs R1,200–R2,000 in South Africa, and it is entirely reasonable to phone somewhere else before you agree.
Or wait until morning
In a Highveld winter, a body kept genuinely cool is fine overnight. If you are willing to wait, weekday rates are usually meaningfully cheaper and nothing is lost. Do what suits your circumstances; neither option is more respectful.
If your pet is still alive and suffering
This is different. Phone your nearest 24-hour emergency animal hospital immediately. Gauteng is well served with round-the-clock veterinary facilities and this is the one situation where waiting causes genuine harm.
If the day is coming
Ease The Paw coordinates in-home pet euthanasia across South Africa — we find and book the vet, arrange the cremation and handle the keepsakes, so you can simply be present. A flat R950 covers the coordination and your keepsake memorial; the vet and cremation are billed separately at their own rates.
