Individual cremation by size

Cats and small dogs under 10kg: roughly R1,100–R2,000. Medium dogs 10–25kg: roughly R1,800–R3,000. Large dogs 25–45kg: roughly R2,400–R4,000. Giant breeds over 45kg: roughly R3,000–R5,500. These are ashes-returned prices and vary by province, with Gauteng and the Western Cape generally at the top of each range.

Communal cremation

Roughly R400–R1,600 depending on weight, with no ashes returned. This is a legitimate and dignified choice, not a lesser one, and it is what many families choose when they know they want to remember rather than to keep.

The extras

Home collection R250–R900 depending on size and distance. Urns from R300 to well over R2,000, though a basic wooden box or scatter tube is usually included. Paw prints, fur keepsakes and memorial jewellery are typically extra. After-hours and weekend collection often carries a surcharge.

What to ask before agreeing

Get the total, not the cremation price. Ask specifically: does that include collection, does it include a container, is it individual, and how long until the ashes are ready. A quote far outside these ranges deserves a second phone call before you commit — grief is not a reason to accept the first number you hear.
