The price

What is included

Usually a basic wooden or cardboard box and a name label. Ask whether a paw print or a lock of fur is included or extra, and ask before the cremation rather than after — this is the one thing that cannot be arranged retrospectively.

Ash volume

A cat returns roughly a cup of ash. Owners frequently expect more and worry when the box feels light. Volume tracks bone mass, so a small, fine-boned cat returns very little regardless of how much coat they had. It is normal.

Bring them in out of the sun before you make any calls. Cats that die outdoors are often found some hours later, and heat accelerates everything. Wrap them, keep them cool, and aim for same-day collection in summer.
