Cremation

What a Pet Cremation Price Actually Includes

The headline number is rarely the total

Most quoted prices cover the cremation itself for a pet in a given weight band, and nothing else. The gap between that figure and what you pay is made up of things nobody mentions unless you ask.

Collection

Sometimes included within a radius, sometimes charged separately, sometimes not offered at all. This is the biggest single variable and the one most often left out of a phone quote.

The container

A basic tin, box or scatter tube is normally included. Anything decorative, wooden or engraved is extra, and engraving usually adds days.

Keepsakes

Paw prints, fur clippings and certificates may be included, may be charged, or may not be offered. Ask before collection — these cannot be done afterwards, and it is the single most common regret people report.

The question that settles it

Ask: what is the total I will pay, including collection from my address, cremation for a pet of this weight, ashes returned, and the container. One sentence, and it removes every surprise. A crematorium that will not answer it plainly is telling you something useful.

If you need a cremation arranged

Ease The Paw arranges pet cremation across South Africa. We find the crematorium, book the collection, stay on it until the ashes are back with you, and set a lock of their fur into a paw print keychain in the colour you choose. A flat R500 covers the coordination and the keychain — the crematorium bills you directly at their own rate.
