Something of Them, to Hold Onto

Fur keepsake keyrings, paw prints, framed canvases and ashes memorials — the small physical things that help families heal, arranged properly and on time.

The fur keepsake keyring — included with every goodbye

A small lock of your pet’s fur, set into a leather paw keyring and placed in your hands on the day itself — not posted weeks later. It is included in what you pay us on every case we coordinate, and it is the thing families tell us they hold onto years afterwards.

If your pet has just passed at home: take the lock of fur now, from the chest or neck, and seal it in any clean envelope or zip-lock bag. It is the one keepsake that cannot be arranged after collection.

Paw prints: ink and clay

Paw prints must be requested before cremation — they cannot be taken afterwards. An ink print on card costs little or nothing when asked for upfront; a clay or plaster impression is a small add-on at most crematoriums. Tell us you want one and we make sure it happens, in writing, before anything else does.

The framed paw-print canvas

For families who want something for the wall, we offer a framed, personalised paw-print canvas at R1,950 — your pet’s actual print, their name and dates, finished and delivered to your door.

Ashes into keepsakes

A portion of ashes can become memorial jewellery, glass art or even tattoo ink — and there is no deadline on any of it. The ashes keep indefinitely, so the kindest advice is simple: decide nothing in the first weeks. When you are ready, our guides below walk through what exists in South Africa and what it costs.

Questions families ask us

Is the fur keepsake really included?

Yes. Every family we coordinate a goodbye or cremation for receives the fur keepsake keyring as part of the service, handed over on the day itself.

My pet has already been cremated — is it too late for keepsakes?

Fur and paw prints, yes — those must be taken before cremation. But the ashes open a whole world of keepsakes with no deadline at all: jewellery, glass, memorial gardens and more.

Can I take the fur clipping myself?

Absolutely, and we encourage it. A small lock from the chest or neck, sealed in a clean envelope, taken whenever you are ready. If we are collecting, tell us and we will take one carefully for you instead.

Do you deliver keepsakes across South Africa?

Yes — hand-delivered in Gauteng, couriered with a personal note everywhere else.
